Every Thursday night after Twins Minor League Weekly I will have a similar article on a different Twins prospect so keep checking back.Travis Aunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03384257585939896204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825523244780267624.post-22138191853845848242011-06-13T07:43:39.898-07:002011-06-13T07:43:39.898-07:00I think the big problem with judging prospects is ...I think the big problem with judging prospects is that all you have to look at for the most part is their stats so you don't see how they play the game. You don't see their compete level or how much effort they put into every play. I listened to the Miracle game on Saturday night at it was exciting every time Hicks was up and when he'd make a play in the field.

Another thing that makes it hard to judge a prospect is that they have to adjust to a new league so often. They don't get to be in the same league for an extended amount of time. Then when they do well they get moved up and almost have to start all over again.

I'm very excited to see if Hicks will break into the Twins lineup in the next couple seasons. It seems like the sky's the limit for him.

Thanks for the in depth article, Travis.Robbhttp://www.TwinsTakes.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825523244780267624.post-17764789058368457262011-06-12T10:45:32.412-07:002011-06-12T10:45:32.412-07:00Travis,

Can you imagine a outfield of Hicks in LF, Revere in CF, and Span or Benson in RF. Wow that gives you goosebumps thinking about it. Please continue to do more updates on the Twins minor league players. I'm following now more closely than ever before.

I know sometimes you think I'm way too harsh or critical of the Twins but nobody is a bigger fan than me. I will continue to watch every game despite them having a bad season. I'm not a bandwagon fan but must be honest this year has been tougher to watch than the middle 90's. Probably because they were expected to be so much better. There is still 100 games left in the year and anything can happen. Go Twins!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825523244780267624.post-6473580293841898912011-06-11T20:59:10.193-07:002011-06-11T20:59:10.193-07:00Jack take a look at tonight's boxscore that is...Jack take a look at tonight's boxscore that is Aaron Hicks at his best.Travis Aunehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03384257585939896204noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-825523244780267624.post-41380483085527348572011-06-11T18:51:37.462-07:002011-06-11T18:51:37.462-07:00Travis,

Truth is every year he continues to disappoint at the minor league level. He was listed by Baseball America as the 19th best prospect overall in 2010 and fell 26 spots to #45 in 2011. This guy is the most over-hyped prospect Twins have had in quite some time. Hicks has very good speed but can't steal bases, great arm, average hitter with limited power, and can only hit from the right side of the plate. To call him a switch hitter is a stretch based on numbers from left side of the plate.

If we have to wait for Hicks until he is 24, 25, or 26 than there is a good chance he won't be anything that special. Torii Hunter made his debut at age 21 and of course the fantastic Ben Revere at 22. I just am not as thrilled about Hicks as every other fan. However, I would sure love to be wrong because the potential is there for Hicks to be a five tool player.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
